Clinical Microsensors (CMS), a high technology spin-off of the California Institute of Technology is developing DNA detection units and disposable chip cartridges, combining open platform design and advanced molecular electronic technology in convenient benchtop and hand-held formats. The CMS eSensorTM technology is poised to set new standards for rapid, cost-effective genetic analysis in healthcare, agriculture, food safety, animal health and breeding, and environmental monitoring.

In June of 2000, CMS was acquired with its eSensor™ DNA Detection System, by the Life Sciences Division of Motorola [Nasdaq:MOT].
